The Northside Methodist Academy Band Program covers 6^th grade through 12^th grade.  We are a progressing band that starts with Beginning Band (6^th grade) to Intermediate Band (7th and 8th grades) and then into the Advanced Band, (9th through 12th grades).   Intermediate/advanced band grade levels are often combined to allow for a more full experience and better instrumentation.

Our goal is excellence in musical instruction and performance, but with the purpose of developing and perfecting our God-given gifts.   As we grow in our gifts, we have more abilities to offer to our Lord, and musical gifts are especially useful for Praise and Worship.  Our success is proven by placing 1st in band at the State ACEA Fine Arts competition in our last 9 competitions...an excellent record for the Glory of God!

Our Band Motto is Colossians 3:23, which calls us to do whatever we do heartily as unto Him, and not unto men.

A sign on the band room wall reads, "Having talent without discipline is like being an octopus on roller skates...lots of movement, but no discernible progress!"   That is a good lesson for life, not just music!
