We at Northside Methodist Academy consider our students and their families our highest priority. Recognizing that this generation has a tremendous opportunity to fulfill their dreams and destiny, we desire to influence them to achieve their highest goals with excellence.
In order to prepare for the transition from High School to college/adulthood, Northside seeks to guide, direct, and impact our students’ decisions for life. In today’s pressure filled society, young people face a wide array of challenges from peer pressure to new innovative technology. Many students find these pressures overwhelming. The mission of the Pastoral and Guidance Staff at Northside Methodist Academy targets in meeting the student’s academic, spiritual, social, and emotional needs. By giving them a solid Biblical foundation that will bring them to a spiritual maturity needed to face and overcome future challenges, we seek to teach our students to make proactive choices to deal completely and successfully with life.
To accomplish these goals, Northside Methodist Academy guidance staff facilitates students in life management skills, creative writing, college preparatory skills, post secondary planning, communication skills, problem solving, decision making, goal setting, career awareness, and academic planning. Northside prides itself in our ability to look at each child individually and build and encourage his gifts and strengths. Our school’s strength is in our diversity.
As the guidance counselor, my heart’s desire is that our students are certain that my office is a safe haven to pour out their hopes, concerns, and dreams; the guidance office doors are always open to students and parents where they will always be prayed for and encouraged and know that someone cares.
