A few things to remember:A school's student accident coverage is designed to supplement a parent's existing medical coverage to help fill in insurance gaps and deductibles when accidents occur.
Insurance coverage for "school time" accidental injuries for your child has been purchased through Educator Resources, a national firm that specializes in meeting the needs of private schools, and is underwritten by Markel Insurance Company.
Injuries that occur on school premises and during school sponsored activities are covered, along with school-provided travel to and from school or school sponsored events. The coverage provided by this policy is "excess", or in other words, secondary to your existing medical coverage. There is no deductible under this policy.
Treatment or services from the following types of providers are included under the policy: physician; hospital; nurse; x-ray; operating room; anesthesia; laboratory; ambulance; ambulatory medical center; prescription medicines; therapeutic services or supplies; and home care expenses.
Should your child ever become accidentally injured at school, a claim form is available from your school administrator. Both the school and the parent or guardian must complete their portion of the form.
Dear Parents:
Your child is covered under the student accident insurance described above. Should your child ever become accidentally injured at school, a claim form is available from the school office. If you have any questions, you may call the school office at 794-7273.
