All novels/plays that were on previous years' reading list will be covered during the school year. If you want to buy them early, here is the list for the year:

7th grade - The Call of the Wild, The Giver, The Outsiders

8th grade - The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

9th grade - And Then There Were None, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (H)(In the E-textbook), Of Mice and Men, Romeo and Juliet

10th grade - Fahrenheit 451, Macbeth, Frankenstein, Animal Farm (H)

11th grade - Huckleberry Finn, The Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby, Cyrano de Bergerac (H)

12th grade - Hamlet, Beowulf, 1984, Pride & Prejudice (H)

Dual Enrollment English Composition I and II - no novels covered, only essays, short stories and poetry




Elementary Reading List

5th Grade - "Mr. Popper's Penguins", by Richard Atwater, for 7 AR points

6th Grade - "Holes", by Louis Sachar, for 7 AR points

Summer reading is counted as a reading grade for the 2020-2021 school year and will kick off their first nine weeks AR goal. The students will only be able to take the quiz when school begins. Students will have to complete this assignment and take the AR test by the second week of school.
