Adelia Burke is a native of South Alabama, having been born in Dothan, Alabama and graduating from Dothan High School. Mrs. Burke graduated from George C. Wallace State Community College with an Associate in Arts Degree in 1976. She graduated from Troy State University with a B. S. Degree in Elementary Education in 1978. She also became certified with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a field of study from 1st grade to 9th grade in 1980. Mrs. Burke is certified with the state of Alabama and the AACS. Mrs. Burke started her teaching career at the Dothan City School System teaching 1st grade at Selma Street Elementary for 23 years. Then she completed her last two years with Dothan City Schools teaching 1st grade at Highlands Elementary. Mrs. Burke came to Northside in 2004 and has taught 2nd grade for 6 and half years and Kindergarten for one year. She was also the Elementary Supervisor, which has led her to become the Elementary Principal. Mrs. Burke is dedicated and committed to providing an opportunity for all students and teachers to teach and learn in a caring and safe Christian environment. She feels that adding value to teachers and students will enable them reach their full potential.
