Head of School

Northside Methodist Academy is a private non-denominational Christian school of over 600 students, K3-12, located in Dothan, AL. The Head of School of Northside Methodist Academy is the leader of the school, overseeing and directing day-to-day operations. While leading faculty and staff, the Head of School will implement the vision and policies and procedures set forth by the School Board.

A singular important aspect of this position involves inspiring students and staff in their relationship with Christ while building a high quality academic and extra-curricular foundation.

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Love for God and for students
  • Actively growing and involved follower of Christ with practices that are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of NMA.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships through modeling the qualities of a servant leader.
  • Serve as a role model and spiritual mentor to faculty, staff, and students, consistent with the manner in which he or she acts, speaks and serves.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 Principle in conflict resolution.

Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Administration/Leadership, or other educational discipline and/or theological training. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in student and/or young adult ministry with an understanding of teaching and coaching from a discipleship perspective.
  • Experience in leadership in the field of education, ministry, or business.
  • Certification in administration or the ability and willingness to obtain certification in a timely manner.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and relational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to both the school family and greater community for the purposes of public relations and fundraising.
  • Knowledge of the school organization, its philosophy, and mission.
  • A steadfast commitment to the NMA mission and vision.

Elementary Teacher for 2022-2023

Northside Methodist Academy is searching for a qualified adult to teach in an elementary classroom. A Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university is required. Applicants must also have a certification (retired or active) from Alabama or another state with certification reciprocity. Middle School Math Teacher for 2022-2023

Northside Methodist Academy is searching for a staff member who can teach middle school math classes.  This is a full-time position.  Teachers must have at least a BS degree and at least 18 hours of college math credits.  Staff members must have a heart for students and Jesus. High School Social Studies or Science Instructor for 2022-2023

Northside Methodist Academy is searching for a staff member who can teach middle and high school history classes.  This is a full-time position.  Teachers must have at least a BS degree and at least 25 hours of college history or science credits.  Staff members must have a heart for students and Jesus. Elementary P.E. Aide

Northside Methodist Academy is searching for a staff member willing to assist the Elementary P.E. Teacher for grades K5-6th. A P.E. background is preferred. Substitute Teachers

Northside Methodist Academy is looking for qualified adults to substitute for all grades. Childcare Workers

Northside Methodist Academy is looking for qualified adults to work in childcare beginning August 9th.  Hours will consist of 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 or 6:00 p.m.  We will possibly have an opening for an 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. shift, as well.  Qualified applicants should send in the NMA application to Cathy Corbin, the Childcare Director at [email protected].  Fingerprints are required.
